Can You Smell the Money?

Today is Johnny Cash's birthday, he would have been 78 years old. In memory of that, Meet the Folks decided to dedicate a whole show to the man. One great hour of music. We played live versions, early stuff, and late stuff.

Civil Rights!

Hello!

We hope everyone has been getting their Olympic Fix... and possibly watched the Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, etc... performance at the White House last Wednesday -- which became our motivation for this weeks show! Civil Rights!

Many of the songs were either originally hymns, turned into songs, notably by Zilphia Horton and her husband and others, that originated during this time period in a struggle for freedom.

We hope you guys tune in this Wednesday @ 7 (when the stream isn't down). We're on an adventure to try and find sport-based songs.

Too Much Dairy...

This is Christy, and I had too much dairy today...

Anywho!

We are going to post what we played last Wednesday -- I hope you all tuned in!

Our theme was Women in Folk, I think it went over pretty well! We didn't get as much depth with artists as we would have liked... but on the bright side, we got a Production Assistant! *claps*

His name is Kevin, and he's been pretty help, and I'm sure you'll hear more about him or from him shortly...

I think for the next show, our theme is going to be Couples in Folk, for Valentine's Day and all :)

The theme for the first show was a run down of our favorites, a history of folk music from the 60's U.S. folk revival onward. We will post every week our play list, theme, and maybe some rando' trivia!

The following week, it was all Ross, he kicked off the set with Tombstone Blues by Bob Dylan, off of his infamous, Highway 61 Revisited album.
